Uganda Talks Climate: already facing the heat
30th September 2009
Kampala, Uganda
The initial findings from Africa Talks Climate: Uganda will be presented at an evening launch event on 30th September, preceeded by a short press conference.
The Research Briefing concludes that the information and communication needs of Ugandan citizens must be at the heart of any national response to climate change. IT further reveals that international climate change language and discourse is currently inaccessible to most Ugandans, and calls for a shift in the debate that promotes more citizen engagement with the issue.
"Climate change is a new term ... you have to interpret it into the local reality", explains an NGO worker quoted in the briefing.
Full details of the briefing will be available to download shortly from this site.
