The BBC World Service Trust is the BBC's international charity. It uses the creative power of media to reduce poverty and promote human rights.

The British Council is the UK's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. As well as education, it runs programmes in the arts, science, sport, governance and English language.

Africa Talks Climate events at COP15

Africa Talks Climate, in partnership with the British Council, will be hosting three exciting events on Thursday 17 December:

Baaba Maal in conversation with Stephen Sackur
Legendary Senegalese musician Baaba Maal, described as a "man with a mission beyond his music", will be talking to BBC News presenter Stephen Sackur about his involvement as climate ambassador for Africa Talks Climate and a UNDP youth ambassador.

The Greatest Debate on Earth
A special episode of World Debate, to be televised on BBC World News on 19 and 20 December.

The Greatest Youth Debate on Earth
Introduced by Baaba Maal, this event will mirror the World Debate with a panel of British Council youth champions from around the world. It will also be featured in a special edition of the BBC World Service's World Have Your Say.
